ORDINARY EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT

It is an educational reinforcement measure carried out in small groups (4 to 5 students) that is implemented when the difficulties some students have cannot be effectively catered for by the teacher’s action in class. Therefore, a complementary action is needed. This support mainly focuses on the basic instrumental areas of the curriculum (Spanish and maths).

ORDINARY EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT IN PRIMARY EDUCATION

Educational reinforcement is an ordinary measure, which means it can be regularly implemented on a student or a group of them. It being ordinary, neither a specific report nor a student with special needs is required.

 

Reinforcement groups are organised in Primary School to fundamentally work with students who have difficulties when executing the basic instrumental learning process (reading and writing).

 

It is a temporary measure until the learning processes that are being reinforced are acquired or mastered. Therefore, once students accomplish the objectives the objectives they stop having the support in case any other students might need it.

 

This reinforcement is carried out in reduced groups (5 to 6 students).

SECONDARY EDUCATION PSYCHO-PEDAGOGICAL CABINET

Who are they aimed at?

  • Students with learning difficulties, particularly when they have to repeat in the year or have any subject pending completion from previous years.
  • Students who get a late start in the Spanish educational system with alack of significant instrumental and language knowledge.
  • Students with difficulties to organize and plan their work and study.

 

What are its objectives?

Its objective is to provide students with an adapted teaching so they can fully develop all their capacities, not only focusing on intellectual and knowledge aspects, but also taking into account personal, emotional and social factors.

How do we work?

  • WITH THE STUDENTS
    • We reinforce and consolidate the learning already initiated in the classroom.
    • We offer students alternative materials to facilitate their study at home (outlines, summaries…)
    • We create complementary support activities to be worked on at home.
    • We offer study guidelines and techniques to help improve students’ performance at school.
    • We develop individual work plans for students who cannot communicate in Spanish.
    • We coordinate and individually monitorthe remedial process for pending subjects from previous years.
  • WITH THE TEACHERS
    • We advise the teaching staff on the necessity of student reinforcement programs.
    • We work with teachers on the creation of assessment tests taking into account students’ characteristics.
    • We advise the teaching staff on educational reinforcement measures to be implemented with these students in the classroom.
    • We collaborate with teachers in the creation of complementary materials to work in the classroom.
    • We attend evaluation sessions to add our pedagogical point of view.
  • WITH THE FAMILIES
    • We attend individual parents meetings with the tutor upon request.
    • We offer parents guidelines to work with students at home.
